Table Tennis Mixed Doubles: SPORTSMANSHIP ON THE TABLE

The highly energetic mixed doubles table tennis matches of ITS 2022 came to an end as with Batch 2022 being crowned the winners.                                                                               

The ITS mixed doubles table tennis, which took place on 26th April 2022, was filled with high-energy matches between Sayanta Sengupta and Devika Mulye from Batch 2022, Aditi and Apekshith Ganesh from Batch 2023, and Mansi Bajpai and Prashant Jhawar from Batch 2024. 

The opening match was won by Batch 2024 over Batch 2023 by scores of 21-17, 13-21, and 21-14.  Batch ’23 made a huge comeback in the second set, but ’24 quickly reclaimed the spotlight by the third set. Mansi spoke about her first ITS experience and how much she enjoyed playing against the seniors. At the same time, Prashant thought that they had given the seniors a good fight and that Batch 2024 will emerge stronger than ever in the coming matches.

The second match was between Batch 2022 and 2024, which was won by Batch 2022 by scores of 21-17, 13-21, and 21-12. Throughout the game, all of the players displayed a great level of sportsmanship, and it was a contest that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Both sides remained fiercely competitive as the game progressed. 

The third match was between Batches 2022 and 2023, which was won by ‘22 by 21-15, and 21-13 respectively. Sayanta and Devika played exceptionally against their opponents, while ’23 also put up a good fight. Apekshith Ganesh spoke about how they had a comeback during the game with Batch 2024, while Aditi was excited to make her debut in ITS. Both of them spoke very highly of their opponents.

Devika Mulye and Sayanta Sengputa from Batch 2022, on the other hand, expressed their delight at winning the ITS Mixed Doubles 2022, despite the fact that all of their opponents put up a great fight.

What we couldn’t do in our first year, we made it happen this year. We are signing off on a very happy note” these were the words of Sayanta Sengupta, Sports Coordinator and part of the Mixed Doubles team of Batch 2022.
