“It was a great match. Much more interesting than I had anticipated. Felt great to knock down the seniors. My win was a smash to all the underestimations!” these were the words of winner from the set-I, Prashant Jhawar (batch 2024) who shared his experience of playing and winning against Rajneesh from 2023.
The journey to victory was treacherous for him, it took a grilling effort to challenge and face the opponent. The first match between batch 2022 and 2023 had its own statement where the capabilities of both the players were on show, creating a closed-out scoreboard of (3-1) 11-7,9-11,11-8,11-8.
Overall, the match was as exciting as it could have been – people cheering and supporting the thrill and spirit of the game. The next fixture was 2024 against 2022. Played by two of the most competitive players, Sayanta Sengupta from ’22 and Prashant Jhawar from ’24. Sayanta with his exceptional serving skills nailed the set-II with score as (3-0) 11-7,11-9,11-3.
The final match was played between batch 2022 and 2023. Sayanta and Rajneesh, both played the match with their ultimate skills and beliefs but Sayanta claimed his last ITS with the triumph of victory on his side on a high note of the scoreline that read (3-0) 11-3,11-5,11-5.

Sayanta concluded his victory with his last words quoting – “Had to break my sweat to beat these champion players. Feels really great, but I’m quite emotional right now as this is the last ITS table tennis event of my college life. Nevertheless, it was a fun and exciting tournament.”
