STUDY TOUR TO PANCHGANI

It all seemed so exotic and as if we had entered a zone of emotion, connect, love, leisure, freedom, devoid of any fear of judgement or negativity

After a tiring and hectic week of our first semester’s external exams, we were all excited about the study tour to Panchgani.

Every session at Asia Plateau impacted me in more than just one way. This trip made me realise that everybody has something or the other to share. We all have different stories and problems, and that no problem is insignificant. Most importantly I realised that I’m not alone. We are all the same, living different stories. I also understood that it was time I stopped pretending to be somebody I wasn’t and let people know the real me. We all have imperfections and it is time to embrace those imperfections without any fear of judgement. I also understood that I don’t have to confine myself in life sentences and explore the world of opportunities by exploiting and pushing myself to experience new things. After this experience, I know for a fact that I will look at people more humbly and will be more sensitive towards others than I ever was. I see myself as a more compassionate and understanding being.

I have realised that it’s not others that tell you that you aren’t good enough, you tell that to yourself and that is one thing I’m going to stop telling myself.

It also helped this technology addicted generation to get rid of the constant urge of updating our social media networks and made us realise the importance of living in the moment. It was a completely different feeling to be amidst nature, with no contact with the outside world, bonding with my batch mates while we watched the sunset together. It all seemed so exotic and as if we had entered a zone of emotion, connect, love, leisure, freedom, devoid of any fear of judgement or negativity.

The highlight of the tour for me was all of us moving to some peppy music as we scribbled words of appreciation on sheets of paper attached on each other’s backs. We all were filled with ounces of positivity and realised that we need to appreciate more things in life and do this more often!

In the last session we formed resolutions and discussed how we’d all do certain things differently. Soon it was time to bid farewell, despising the end we departed with a heavy heart, new friends, lot of positivity and memories made that we would all cherish forever.

Lastly, I would like to reiterate this quote I came across during our tour- “Life is not a matter of milestones, life is about moments!”
