Even if I do not pursue a career in mass communication in the future, I know that somewhere down the line, I would remember my learnings at SCMC and make the right decision, and be glad that I joined this incredible institute
Back in 2015, when it was time for me to decide how I would spend the next three or four years of my life, I did not know what I wanted to do. I was indecisive and utterly confused. I had certain strengths and many weaknesses, but what counted for me was that I had the right intent. When the time came for me to choose between Symbiosis Institute of Design and Symbiosis Centre for Media & Communication, I chose the latter. The intent was to derive maximum value out of my undergraduate education, not only in the form of academics but also to better understand the world that we live in.
In my mind what sets SCMC apart from other mass communication colleges is the diversity of courses it offers during the program. People usually see these from the perspective of what the industry would require for us to know. But for me, this kind of education serves an even greater purpose.
I was never sure of what I wanted to do in life and have always had varied interests. Fueled by my desire to learn and find the relation between all the courses that I have so far come across at SCMC, I have come to better understand the world that I live in. It is not the promise of an excellent degree or a great placement that has really struck a chord with me.
My education at SCMC has made me more capable of making future life decisions, keeping in mind everything that I have learned. I joined SCMC because I wanted to learn more and I am happy to say that in these three years, I have learnt more than what I thought was possible.
Learning is a life-long process and SCMC was a stop that made a difference in my journey. With 4 months left for the final year to end, I am sure to derive the most of what I would be learning. Even if I do not pursue a career in mass communication in the future, I know that somewhere down the line, I would remember my learnings at SCMC and make the right decision, and be glad that I joined this incredible institute.
