“Pinku Pass Ho Gaya!”

How often do we as children, find ourselves into a position where we have to choose between our passion and academics?

This podcast called ‘Pinku Pass Hogaya’ by Siddhi Satpathy from Batch 2022 is about Pinku. This ten year old is an ustad when it comes to playing kanche. However, his never ending struggle with mathematics and his wish to be like over-achieving brother puts him in a tough spot. The story highlights how the law of sacrifice eventually becomes a part of all our lives. In order to attain something you believe is of greater value, you must give up something you believe is of lesser value. In simpler words, kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padta hai.

Siddhi wrote this beautiful story a year ago, after her board exams got over. She remembers reading a story in her Hindi textbook back in seventh grade, about kanche. Her fascination with kanche ended up making them the key element of her story. The main challenge for her while writing this was a shift in the genre. Most of her poems and writings can be classified under the romance genre. Writing something that isn’t her forte was the biggest challenge for her. Although she had recorded this a year ago, she took feedback from many people in SCMC regarding the sound and audio. After compiling all her efforts, she finally released her podcast on Spotify.

Amidst the chaos we are in, I assure this story will bring the brightest smile on your face. To listen to the whole audio, click on the following link:
