Headline – SCMC Wraps 2021 On A Satrangi Note

After receiving booming participation from over 13 Contingents and 185 Individual Participants across 12 different categories of events, the second week of December 2021 saw the first-ever inter-collegiate fest for SCMC – Satrang ’21!

Months of conceptualisation, logistics, and backend meetings later, the virtual backstage saw the real world when members of the Organizing Committee huddled up for two weeks of pure adrenaline to witness outstanding talent from across the country.

The theme for Satrang 2021 was ‘Unmasking the Reality;’ along which all the events across the 12 categories, competitive and non-competitive, were curated. Events like Stage Na Milega Dobara (Improv), Tweet Cute, Big Brain Time, and 36 Ghante continued their run in this year’s event as well. The lifestyle event – Treasure Hunt, was also among the few treasures hunts from the past events that received the most buzz and participation than  previous year’s intra-college fest.

This year saw the introduction of some eye-grabbing events as well: Hasee Toh Phasee, the news-reading teleprompter event and Good Mooornin’ SCMC, the RJ event; recorded the maximum participation and succeeded in tingling the spectators’ funny bones.

SCMC’s newly introduced Gaming Club had the maximum number of events. Kicking off the fest with Call of Duty (COD-M): Elimination Round on Day 1 itself, the organizers fired the shots accurately to hit the bull’s eye.

The Satrangi fest got vibrant stroke in the form of Guest Sessions with one of SCMC’s alumnus – Delzad Hiwale (Actor- Hindi Medium, Chhapak, Ankahi Kahaniyan); and two versatile dancers – Eishika and Jinal, who motivated students with their inspiring words on the pursuit of one’s art and passion.

Two weeks of enthusiasm, energy, and excitement later, Satrang 2021 bid adieu to its participants, spectators, and supporters with its bonus Instagram Live Session on 23 December and a Grand Closing Ceremony on the night of 24thDecember 2021.

“This year, conducting Satrang was quite a challenge, as SCMC was hosting an inter-college online fest for the first time. But with a strong team and constant support, we were able to pull it off successfully and engage multiple colleges pan India!,” said Trisha Welde, Deputy Head of the Student Council and Senior Cultural Coordinator

Satrang 2021 successfully stood up to its name in lighting the lives of students with much-needed colours, transmuting the otherwise mundane hours into golden ones!
