A splendid battle of sportsmanship was seen with the commencement of Day 2 of ITS, as the three batches competed to cinch their victory at Table Tennis. The Women’s Singles event saw the first match between Mansi of batch 2024 and Aditi of batch 2023. In an intense competition between the two, Aditi won all the three sets, with scores of 11-9, 11-6, and 12-10. It was a tough competition, as Mansi had a good start during the first half of the sets. Aditi on the other hand paced up quickly, leading to cut-throat competition in the third set.
The second match was between Devika of Batch 2022 and Mansi of Batch 2024, with Mansi dominating the game. With a lovely backhand defense, Mansi gave tough competition to Batch 2022’s Devika, winning three of the five sets. Devika won the first and the fourth set with scores of 11-5 and 11-8, respectively, while Mansi aced the show by winning the second, third, and fifth sets, with scores standing at 11-5, 11-8, and 11-7 respectively.
The final match occurred between Aditi of batch 2023 and Devika of batch 2022. The first set was a winning start for Aditi with the score being 13-11. However, Devika won the second set despite Aditi’s resistance, with the score reading 11-9. Even though batch 2022 was leading initially, Aditi ensured a fierce win for her batch by winning the third and the fourth set, scoring 11-8 and 11-7, respectively.
Thus, the #tayyarhai motto proved true, as Batch 2023 proved their mettle, adding another feather to their cap. When asked about her mantra to steal the match, Aditi said, “I am quite elated to win this match, as being in the finals made me nervous with butterflies in my stomach. After winning the first match, I was confident, which helped me calm down. Mansi played an amazing game. I know Devika plays exceptionally well, but I kept my calm, which helped me succeed.”
